Greyhound will no longer allow immigration sweeps on some of its buses.
Greyhound Lines will now block immigration agents from conducting sweeps without warrants on their buses and in their bus stations in Washington state. The lawsuit, settled with Washington state, means the company will also have to pay $2.2 million in legal fees and restitution. The settlement forced Greyhound to “cover the state’s legal fees and pay restitution to passengers who were detained, arrested, or deported after immigration agents boarded their bus.”
